Sustainability Starts With Us
Going Beyond the Packaging
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is an ongoing commitment at Produce Packaging. We continually take practical steps to reduce our environmental impact through both the materials we supply and the way we operate. Across our depots, electric forklifts, EV charging points, and hybrid sales vehicles help lower emissions, while energy-saving measures such as LED lighting and solar panels at Spalding reduce our overall footprint.
We also focus on operational efficiency, optimising delivery routes and supplier collections to cut fuel use and minimise unnecessary emissions across our fleet. In our offices, simple but effective changes, including reduced printing and motion-sensor lighting, further support our goals. Every improvement, large or small, reflects our commitment to responsible business practices and a more sustainable future.
Solar Panels
We’ve introduced solar panels at our Spalding depot to generate renewable energy and lower our carbon footprint.
Electric Vehicles
Our depots now use electric forklifts, and our sales team operate hybrid vehicles supported by on-site charging points.
Route Planning
We continually optimise our delivery routes to cut fuel use and reduce emissions across our fleet.
LED & Motion Sensors
Energy-efficient LED lighting and motion sensors help us minimise electricity use throughout our depots.

Recyclable at supermarkets
We believe that genuine packaging sustainability is shaped by many factors, including pack weight, carbon impact, recyclability and how well the pack reduces food waste. This is why we work closely with our customers to identify the most responsible solution for their specific needs.
Across our range, we are proud to offer fully recyclable products, and we continue to increase the number of options that can be recycled at kerbside. We also encourage the use of recycled content within packs and partner with suppliers who share our commitment to responsible sourcing and environmental care.
The progress we are making shows how meaningful improvements can create packaging that performs well, protects produce and supports a more sustainable future for our industry.
