Moulded Fibre (paper pulp)
Moulded fibre (paper pulp) trays and punnets are a brilliant alternative to plastic. These trays offer excellent protection for your produce and enhance the presentation. This range is manufactured in the UK from the off-cuts of the box manufacturing industry. They are available as standard in black but can be produced in different colours if required. There is a large range of trays to choose from and bespoke items can be manufactured to order.

Carton Board
Carton board is another excellent alternative to plastic for flow wrapping or clamshell-style (integrated lid) applications. In fact, it is probably the most versatile material available. Our designers can find a solution for your unique product needs. It has the additional benefits of being a superb print media and for bespoke applications, available at lower volumes than moulded or thermoformed fibre.

Bespoke Boxes and Cases
Machine erected boxes have many benefits in today’s fast-moving produce sector. Robust and stable, they provide a secure route to your market place. We can provide boxes of your own unique design that can be erected in the South-East or Scotland and delivered ready to use. If you have a higher volume need, we are also able to provide the machinery for you to manage your own manufacture at your own site.

Thermofomed Fibre (paper pulp)
Thermoformed Fibre (cellulose pulp) is an evolution of moulded fibre that has taken pulp performance to a higher level. Manufactured in Canada from a combination of box off-cuts and wood pulp from the FSC (sustainable) lumber industry, it affords smoother and more technically proficient moulding. This enables the mass manufacture of punnets and trays that can be used on existing de-nesting and sealing machinery instead of plastic, giving top-seal and shelf-life performance in excess of its plastic counterpart. Available as top sealable punnets, flat and cavity trays in its natural colour. There is an extensive range and bespoke designs can be produced.

Flexibles
Flexibles would traditionally mean polythene, polypropylene, polyester and similar fossil fuel-based plastics. Used for a multitude of purposes from polybags to flow-wrapping and film-lidding. These still have an important role to play for produce as they protect and preserve innumerable produce items. As we move further into the 21st Century, very significant resources are being put into the development of alternatives to traditional flexibles with recyclability and compostability as the drivers. From paper films to plant-based films, this is an area in which we expect to see great progress in the near future. Reducing the impact of flexible packaging on the environment is a key aim for both ourselves and our clients and we continue to support and assist this progress.
Thermoformed rPET
Recyclable Plastic trays and punnets at Produce Packaging are manufactured from rPET (Recycled – Polyethylene terephthalate) and have a minimum of 70% content recovered from plastic drinks bottles. As availability and processes improve we are moving toward 100% recycled content. Please see our Environment page for information on Social Plastic and how our partners are taking recycling even further. This range is manufactured in the UK and Europe. They are available as standard in clear rPET but can be produced in different colours if required. There is a large range of trays and punnets to choose from, many of which are top sealable with the appropriate film. These include all of the standard UK retailer footprints. We are also able to source bespoke thermoformed trays and punnets via our manufacturing partners.
