What inspired you to join Produce Packaging, and what continues to motivate you in your role today?
I originally joined Produce Packaging as an HGV driver. Before this, I had worked on the estate as a site manager but was made redundant. After that experience, I decided I no longer wanted to work in management and moved into painting and decorating. However, the work proved difficult to sustain, so I took another job on the same estate in one of the units, which has since been taken over by Produce Packaging.
While working there, I met Rob Tong, who later left to join Produce Packaging. When an opportunity became available, he recommended me, and I joined the company. I was impressed by how well managed the business was, the pride taken in its fleet, and the way staff were looked after.
After a few months with the company, I passed my Class 1 licence and was promoted to Operations Supervisor, returning to a management role. This time, however, I felt confident that it was the right move to make.
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
Outside of work, I play guitar in two original bands, spending a significant amount of time writing and recording music. I also perform in cover bands and regularly play pub gigs across Kent. When I’m not playing guitar, I enjoy spending time with my partner and my dog.
