Electric Car Chargers at Marden H.O.
Investment in our Head Office site has continued with the installation of three car charging points. The anxiety of “will I make it?!” has been removed for colleagues and visitors...
Three charging points installed at our Marden head office.
Following on from the redevelopment of our head office complex at Marden in Kent, Produce Packaging have invested in the installation of three car charging points for use by staff and visitors alike.
Sales of fully electric or hybrid vehicles are rising quickly in the UK. All new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans are set to be banned from sale in 2030. New hybrids will be given a stay of execution until 2035, on the condition they are capable of covering a “significant distance” in zero-emission mode – a term which the Government has yet to define. After 2035, the only new cars and vans that can be sold will be pure electric ones plus any hydrogen-powered cars that may exist at that point.
To accommodate choices made by our colleagues and our visitors, this installation provides convenience and security for the early adopters of what will be mainstream transport in the near future. Range anxiety is one of the most significant factors in any decision to swap from traditionally powered vehicles to electric or hybrid vehicles and these chargers help to eliminate that. Our colleagues and visitors can feel reassured that whilst on site they can add some range to their batteries and continue onward or home confident of completing the next leg of their journey. Our colleague Gordon was the first to top up whilst visiting from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, confident that the 260 mile round trip would be a breeze.
