Produce Packaging Innovation day – Spalding, Lincs.
Our purpose built depot at Spalding in Lincolnshire has provided us with the means to grow and service our customer base since leaving Wisbech in 2016. To meet the needs of the business, as both ourselves and our industry develop, we have expanded the site to ensure it is ready for the future.
In November this year we were fortunate enough to be able to host an event to both celebrate and demonstrate the benefits of our expanded Spalding site.
A number of our trusted supply partners gave up their time to join us and showcase our combined abilities. Invited guests from our local and national customer base were able to see what innovation we are bringing to the industry in terms of materials, machinery and products. There was a great atmosphere and many interesting conversations, with ideas and opportunities being created and discussed.
Our commitment to traceability and accountability is enhanced by our digital warehouse management systems, demonstrated as our guests toured the expanded site. It has to be said that there were appreciative comments throughout the day and a number of our customers were very surprised to see the scale of operation required to service the industry. We also showcased our new delivery tracking system that is to be rolled out through 2023, which will allow our customers to plan resources, knowing when our deliveries will be arriving with them.
The atmosphere was further enhanced by the limitless supply of hot food from the hog roast and warming coffee from the barista. None of this could have happened without the support and assistance of the Spalding Depot team, for which you have our sincere thanks. I suspect they prefer the peace and quiet now though?
